Andreya Casablanca

Andreya Casablanca is mainly recognised as the singer of the band Gurr, but some know her as a photographer and writer as well. Just last year, she presented an exhibition of pictures called »Road Dog,« which was accompanied by a zine of prose and poetry. A look at her YouTube or SoundCloud channels also proves that Casablanca is still letting off steam elsewhere besides her main outlet with Gurr. A few years ago, she uploaded a series of noisy indie-rock songs, putting the spotlight on a completely different side of her musical interests with echoing vocals and drum-machine rhythms. The penchant for big hooks is the same, but the foundation is different. More electronic, sometimes even poppier. In May last year, Casablanca released her first proper single, »Talk About It,« and we’re curious to see what else she brings to Pop-Kultur.
