Deutschlandfunk Kultur: »Brauchen wir eine neue Musiker:innen-Vertretung?« (De)
In the Corona crisis, many musicians have felt they are being left in the lurch. Aid programmes from the federal and state governments are not tailored to them or come too late. Although there are numerous associations in Germany that consolidate the interests of music workers, solo freelancers, who often work under precarious conditions anyway, especially feel like the weakest link in a long chain. Is there a need for an interest group that represents the concerns of the those who are self-employed? What can artists themselves do to strengthen their stance? What role do politicians see themselves playing vis-à-vis musicians? Do politicians and cultural workers speak different languages? Ella Rohwer from the Pro Musik association, pop musician Balbina and Berlin’s Senator for Culture Klaus Lederer will tackle these questions in a talk show on Deutschlandfunk Kultur.
