Les Trucs: »Sepia Sepia«
For their commissioned work at Pop-Kultur, performance duo Les Trucs have found inspiration in the vampire squid (Vampyroteuthis infernalis) – a deep sea creature explored by cultural theorist Vilém Flusser, reflecting on current affairs – the demands placed on the individual and the challenges presented by change. Based on their situational, referential approach, they’ve developed a self-sufficient, recurring performance that addresses themes of disappearance, adaptation and transformation – all within the confines of physical distancing. Spurred by certain cephalopods’ ability to change colour and shape, Les Trucs will offer an amorphous sensory experience of sound, light, word and body. With the use of LED spotlights, fog machines and effects devices, music and choreography will weave together with the surrounding architecture.
