Melentini

Eleni Melentini has three great loves: Theatre, film and music. In her own compositions, all of these and more flow together. Last year’s »9 Songs for Post-Greek Films,« a compilation of soundtrack work, underscores her knack for dramatic arrangements and cinematic moods as well as her stylistic range as a songwriter. Between wall-of-sound pop, (Italo) discoid anthems and introspective organ ballads, there’s also a number reminiscent of The Knife’s early days. And that’s only a small sampling of Melentini’s own output, to say nothing of her work with the Greek electronica trio Sequence Theory Project or the nu-jazz formation Running Blue Orchestra. Her versatility is what sets her apart, offering surprises again and again – at Pop-Kultur, too. What to expect? Just wait and be surprised, like in a good film.
