What inspires her most, says Noraa Tchari, are other people and the conversations she has with them. This, of course, gets reflected in the music of the singer, songwriter and DJ: Her lyrics are about the interpersonal. For every »I« there is a »you,« and what happens in the togetherness of the two is what drives NORAA’s R&B and neo-soul creations. She describes her sound as »mostly midtempo, emotional and for vibing,« with a slowly, softly and subtly unfolding impact, as heard on her debut »Mixed Feeling.« Her message is essentially a personal one but expresses universal themes, whether it’s love and all its sunny moments, dark sides or anything else, the interpersonal is the central pivot of NORAA’s work, allowing her music to form a strong bond. Besides her solo material, NORAA co-wrote the song »Little Something,« a duet recorded by Sting and jazz singer Melody Gardot.
