Obviously, everyone working in the cultural sector or making art wants to be successful. But exactly how you define success and what it takes to achieve it are completely different questions without a simple answer. In particular, artists with disabilities have to overcome obstacles on the way to any kind of success, such as inaccessible working environments and funding applications as well as forms of discrimination, both individual and structural. Actress and songwriter Lucy Wilke, also performing at Pop-Kultur with her duo blind & lame, MC Luis Lyrisch and Peter Mandel, founder of Handiclapped-Kultur Barrierefrei e. V. and organiser of concerts for people with and without disabilities, and presenter Graf Fidi will discuss what conditions are needed so that people with disabilities can have access and visibility in the arts and culture industry.
