Pop-Kultur 2020 – Tickets now on sale

Today, we’re thrilled to announce the dates of our festival’s sixth edition, along with the start of ticket sales at an early-bird price, but that’s not all: we’re also taking applications for this year’s »Pop-Kultur lokal« event series and the internationally oriented »Goethe Talents« programme.

This year, the Pop-Kultur festival will take place from the 26th to 28th of August, 2020. Once again for the fourth time, we’ll be taking over the premises of the Kulturbrauerei, where we feel quite at home by now, every year aiming to further develop existing pop formats, and enabling more than just musical experiences along the way.

Along with this announcement begins the sale of festival tickets: for a limited time, you can get a 3-day festival pass for the discounted price of 40 euros (plus service fees), giving you access to over 100 (!) events. Who plays when and where, we’ll tell you in the coming weeks. For now, your trust in us will get rewarded with the reduced-price »Vorteil« ticket. But once we make the first lineup announcement, the 3-day pass will be sold at full price.

Right this way to the tickets.

Dear Berliner Event Organisers,

Your attention please! The »Pop-Kultur lokal« series is back this year, once again featuring some of the most interesting spaces in Berlin and their networks. We’re funding your concepts for a music-based evening, which could also take an interdisciplinary or discursive approach.

Let us know about a concept that you’ve always wanted to bring to life by applying. If selected, you’ll receive a grant of 2,000 euros. The events themselves have free admission. If you know other event organisers who may be interested, feel free to spread the word.

The events will take place once a month from April to July 2020, always on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.

All information on Pop-Kultur lokal 2020 can be found in the Call for Concepts [PDF].

You can apply online via the application form here or send the PDF form (link) to info@pop-kultur.berlin.
Submissions are due on the 10th of March, 2020, at 10:00. More information can be found on our website.

Applications for the 2020 programme of »Goethe Talents«, initiated in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut, are open till the 18th of March!

For the fifth time, Pop-Kultur and the Goethe-Institut are offering scholarships to ten musicians aged between 20 and 30 years, bringing them from their homes in the Global South and Western and Central Asia to Berlin for a period of 12 action-packed days. The list of activities includes studio visits, jam sessions, brief internships at music companies and meet-ups with scholarship recipients of the Musicboard Berlin GmbH, as well as the possibility for these talents to present their music in selected Berlin clubs and at Pop-Kultur itself. If you know any musicians or networks from the above-mentioned regions whom you think would be a good fit for this diverse program, please pass on this announcement.

Further information and the application form can be found on our website.
