After a digital edition last year, nothing will stop us this year from greeting our Nachwuchs talents personally in Kulturbrauerei Berlin and celebrating together this year’s kick-off of Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs. If you’re participating from elsewhere in the world, you can follow the evening’s events live over ALEX Berlin. After a welcome to the Pop-Kultur program team, two Pop-Kultur Alumni will share their experiences and offer tips on how to get the best out of the program. KARMA SHE and Christin Börsch-Supan (Hope) both succeeded in making the jump to the Pop-Kultur Live program stage, and in an interview with freelance journalist Laura Aha they relate what steps they took next, what paths they followed, and how they applied what they learned. From this year’s Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs, No Bloom Now, veenus x boats and Mystigrix will play.
No Bloom Now interweaves elements of artpop and electronic to create unique and complex sound worlds. The love for detail can be found in the depths of his tracks. Complex drum sounds and wide synthesizers that inspire dreams take you on a journey through different worlds.
veenus has one mission: bringing more represent[asian] to the mainstream world. The Vietnamese-German singer gives Asian identity, agony turned into self-love and reveries its own sound. As part of Popkultur Nachwuchs they want to continue bringing their mix of Alternative R&B x Synth Pop aka badazz pop to the people and do. nothing. but. vibee.
Mystigrix [ mis.ti.gri ] is a French-German DJ and Producer. Curiosity and an open mind are two main ingredients of his musical approach, that concentrates inspirations from a variety of genres. His musical catalogue spans numerous labels, such as Berlin Bass Collective and Thirty Year Records.
