»AI – What’s up with that?« (En)
There’s no question: artificial intelligence has arrived in music production. And now? What happens next? Will all the dystopian predictions really come true and songwriters soon be out of a job? Or can AI even help us expand artistic expression? In this talk, philosopher Dorothea Winter, author and founder of the DIANA AI Song Contest Jovanka von Wilsdorf and sound artist Moisés H., together with host Stephan Baumann, will clarify fundamental questions about artificial intelligence and its use in the production and reception of music. However, they also take a look at the potentials and pitfalls associated with the technology: What can AI achieve during times of pandemic, and what bridges can it build? What legal and ethical issues regarding privacy, data misuse, authorship or even programmed biases need to be addressed now before they become further entrenched?
