blind & lame

Gika Wilke is blind; her daughter Lucy Wilke uses a wheelchair. Together, they form the band blind & lame. They chose the name so that the topic of »disability« would be checked off from the start. Then everyone can focus on what it’s really all about: the music. With their unmistakable sound – modern guitar pop meets gipsy rumba, swing and soul – blind & lame take the audience on a crossover journey through the world, creating danceable singer-songwriter music at its best. On stage, their spirited performance ensures maximum magical moments despite minimal instrumentation. Since their debut in 2014, the musicians have received a lot of media attention, considered a model-minority act. This likely elicits only a casual shrug of from the familial Munich duo. Because above all, they are one thing: extremely cool.
