Danitsa doesn’t have the typical biography of a pop artist, having started out not as a rebel but rather a collaborator. At the age of ten, instead of rejecting her parents’ taste, she’d go into the studio with her reggae-loving father and let her mother give her a few lessons in soul and hip-hop. All of this echoes today in the music of the Geneva-based artist, who, with a multitude of releases since her solo debut in 2013, has proven that she feels at home no matter what genre she’s exploring: dancehall riddims, trap beats, house grooves – against a variety of backgrounds, she toasts, raps and sings with an unparalleled sovereignty. Her parents can be proud: the Paris native is currently working on the follow-up to her debut album »EGO.«
