»Poetry Meets«

Empty spaces can be filled with meaning, and a name like »Poetry Meets« is the best example of this. For her event series, curator and artist Jumoke Adeyanju lets poetry join other forms of art and expression to allow for creative synergy – as well as dissonance. No holds barred, all kinds of possibilities. In a special edition of the series, spoken-word artist Lysania, lyricist Tanasgol Sabbagh, musician and singer Sadik Wave and artist Mandhla Ndubiwa from Simbabwe come together at Pop-Kultur, along with a band led by drummer Femi Oyewole. Spanning disciplines, genres and even languages, new potentials will get uncovered in this interplay of word and sound. Above all, an open-ended title like »Poetry Meets« is meant to allow for new possibilities.
