SelbstgebauteMusik: Das Rieseninstrument Edition Papp-Kultur
Selbstgebaute Musik (Self-made Music) is all kinds of things: a platform for inventing instruments, an artist network and a festival. The collective experiments with everyday musical materials, participatory performance concepts and music in a variety of spaces. In this production in the courtyard of the PANDA theatre, sound and spatial installation combine in a giant instrument with various modules, such as cardboard instruments and a dismantled piano. Artists will be invited to take over the installation in a live set, in which festival-goers can sit on the instrument or even actively play its different elements, which are connected to each other via a mixing console. Headphones allow participants to experience the various parts as a musical whole, amplifying otherwise inaudible sounds that come together for a collective listening experience.
