Sofia Portanet

What is the origin of a song? What is the reality behind it? What moved someone to write about a certain situation or feeling and put it to music? In her commissioned work for Pop-Kultur, Sofia Portanet takes these questions as a starting point for a unique live interpretation of her debut album »Freier Geist« (»Free Spirit«), released last year. Portanet’s songs will be fleshed out with help not just from other musicians, including a special guest, but also actors, who will interstitially (re)contexualise the content of her lyrics. The multilingual singer-songwriter touches on themes such as freedom, love, transience and the search for a home, themes which will be brought to life in more than one way on the stage.
